Are you new to Canada and living in the Greater Montreal region? Are you looking for free language classes to improve your English or French? Centre Social d’Aide aux Immigrants is offering free French and English courses in Montreal!

If you have started to learn French or English, but need some help in your preparations for language exams, these courses might be a perfect fit for you! And just think how many new connections you can make in your new community with a stronger mastery of the local languages! Start speaking to your neighbours, colleagues, and new friends with confidence this summer.

About the Free French Classes

The free French classes offered by CSAI Training and Immigration Support department will take place online. You don’t have to worry about commuting! The course is designed for people who are learning French to pass the TEFaQ (Le Test d'Évaluation de Français pour l'Accès au Québec) as part of the PEQ program (Programme de l’expérience québécoise). The course is scheduled to begin on July 27th, 2020 and will run for 12 classes (2 lessons per week for 6 weeks). Read the information below to see if you qualify for this free French course.

About the Free English Course

The free English courses the CSAI Training and Immigration Support department is offering are also online. They are designed for advanced to intermediate students who are learning English and are preparing for an exam like the IELTS (International English Language Testing System) or TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language). The course is scheduled to begin on July 27th, 2020 and will run for 12 classes (2 lessons per week for 6 weeks). Find out below if you qualify for these free English lessons.

Do You Qualify for Free French and English Lessons at CSAI?

In order to qualify for the free English or French classes at CSAI, you need to meet the following criteria:

  • You must have an intermediate level in the language you would like to improve (either French or English).
  • You must live in the Greater Montreal region.
  • Your status in Canada must fit one of the following categories:
  • International student
  • Asylum claimant
  • Temporary worker
  • Protected persons
  • Permanent resident
  • Naturalized Canadian citizen

Places in the French and English courses at CSAI are granted on a first come first serve basis to people who qualify. Once a class is filled, you will be put on a waiting list for the next session of language lessons. Once your registration is confirmed, CSAI will send you detailed information about the tools you will need as well as your class schedule.
