General Policy for French courses in class and online classroom
I. Payment and refund policy
a) Students may observe a class at College Innovance for 15 mins prior to subscription.
b) Payments in cash, debit, credit card, E-transfer and personal bank cheque are accepted. The fees must be paid in full 10 days prior to the start of classes.
c) Admission fees of $ 30 apply for first registration. The registration fees is not refundable under any circumstance.
d) If a student is registered for any courses in College Innovance, there is absolutely no refund on the tuition paid. After completing the registration process, there is no refund for the course tuition or the administration fee or any other payment.
e) The plans of 3 months, 6 months and 12 months for French courses are considered as a package with a discount and there is no refund for the entirety of the plan.
f) Innovance College reserves the right to change/modify/cancel classes if the attendance falls below five persons registered.
II. Legal Provision for International Students and Persons with Temporary Resident Status in Canada
g) Student understands and acknowledges that the French classes offered at Innovance College are exclusively preparation courses for learning French to pass standard tests of French or the placement test of one of the universities whose program is recognized by the Minister of Immigration and Citizenship Canada. Under no circumstances may a student submit their attestation from Innovance College for French in his application process for permanent residence in Canada. At the end of their studies at Innovance College, the student must either pass a test of TCF, TEF, TEFAQ, TCFQ, etc., or pass the placement test of one of the recognized universities, study the required program and the succeed. Students must be aware that their level of French will be evaluated through an interview by Immigration and Citizenship Canada as part of their immigration process.
III. Communication policy
h) All correspondence must be sent via email in French and/or English to the official email address of Innovance College: firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com. Verbal requests or requests sent via social media or SMS will not be accepted.
i) All communication with the trainers and staff of the Innovance College must be made through Innovance College via email.
j) All the educational materials of Innovance College must be reserved for the personal and private use of our students. The sharing of educational material (slides, vocabulary, audio, etc.) in Telegram, Facebook or any other form of communication on the Internet or on paper is strictly prohibited. Innovance College reserves the right to request payment for damages from students who do not respect the rules of confidentiality of the courses.
IV. Advantage reserved exclusively for students in the INNOVANCE PLANS
k) Course flexibility and organization: The student signs up for a three-month, six-month or one-year package.
l) In each 6 sessions, there are 2 blocks. Exams will take place after block A and block B. These are independent exams. It’s mandatory to participate at the exam organized one time per week.
m) The academic duration of a class is 2:45. (1, 2 or 4 times a week depending on the program).
n) Students must present their homework before each session to their trainer. Students commit to book exercises after each episode in the book. The quiz must be done before coming to the class. The workbooks are not included.
o) Students must be on time and abide by the internal rules of Innovance College (Only one absence per Block).
p) The student recognizes that they must devote at least 3 hours per day in their learning of French and that their participation alone is not enough to reach the required level of French for both abilities to listen and to speak. If the student encounters difficulties, they must immediately inform Innovance College and have a consultation session to improve their language skills.
q) There is no freeze option available for the students in the class. Once the class starts there will be no cancellation or no refund possible. If the students do not attend the course, still they have to pay the whole amount of the course.
r) Students who choose to pay in instalment, authorize College Innovance to deduct the amount from the credit card in monthly or weekly plan and there is cancellation on the payment possible.
s) Students in the plan may change the days they attend their classes to other classes, by written request, if their university program changes or if they start working during the hours they have enrolled for the classes. This is subject to space availability. There is no refund at all.
t) If the student, who opted for a package, has no knowledge of French, they must register for a level PEQF 0 course. They must pay the fee for this level separately.
u) For pedagogical reasons and in order to have the students practice, they must speak only English and French in class, on the premises of College Innovance and with other students. If a student is found speaking another language in the classroom, on the premises or with another student, they will be required to pay a penalty of $1 (or write a French sentence in our Inno-conversation) for each time they are caught.
v) Students commit to actively participate in the Inno-Conversation groups of their class. The class representative motivates students to participate in conversations. If a student does not write a minimum of 10 sentences in French per week, they must pay a penalty: $1 or immediately write the 10 sentences in French in Inno-conversation).
w) College Innovance will provide a complete schedule for a full program 144 hours at the time of registration.
